To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Matilda's Garden that includes an application, home check and adoption fee. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. You may be asked to provide additional information in order to approve your application.

Animals are for life. When you adopt an animal, it is a commitment you make to the animal, for the lifetime of that animal. By adopting a cat or dog from Matilda's Garden, you’re making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal, which can be up to 20 years. Adopting a cat is a serious commitment, but one that is incredibly rewarding.

If you are unable to make such a long-term commitment, we would be happy to have you become a foster parent instead, or consider volunteering in other ways. It’s a great way to make a difference in an animal’s life without taking on such a long-term commitment.

You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for pet adoption:

*Must be 21 years or older

*Must have I.D. showing present address

*Must have knowledge and consent of all adults in your household

*Must be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet

*Adoption fees start at $80.00. All pets must leave in an approved pet carrier.

Matilda's Garden representatives reserve the right for final approval or denial on any adoption.
